Christmas came and went

Wow it is hard to believe that Christmas has come and gone already.
This year we did things a little different. Since it was just Chelsea, Jesse and I, we packed up our presents and all of our stuff and headed to my parents for Christmas.
We had Christmas Eve at my sisters house and we all brought finger foods and it was really fun to get together and spend time with family.
We went home to mom's house and we watch Mama Mia. What a crazy show. It was kind of cute and then we went to bed.
Because my kids are older I thought we would be able to sleep in. Oh no the kids were up at 7:00 and couldn't go back to bed.
We had breakfast and waited for Tyson to come over so we could open presents.
It was a lot of fun having Christmas at home with my parents and my kids. It has been along time since we have done that.
Because the weather was going to be bad the kids and I left early to make it home before the storm of the year hit. We made it home in plenty of time.
We spent the rest of the day playing guiatar hero. Jesse got rock the 80's. My brother Jeff said that I would be the only on to enjoy it and guess what I did. The kids left to do other things and I got to rock out!!!
But now Christmas is over and we are on to a brand new year.
Hope that 2009 brings great joy to us all.

At this time of year, I want to say how thankful I am for my family. My Mom, my Dad, and sisters and my brother.

For my children who bring great joy to me no matter what!!!

For my ward Family who has taken us inn and made us part of them.

This past weekend my youngest son Jesse was baptized. What a wonderful day it was.

My family minus my dad who was snowed in, in Portland and my brother who was waiting for the cable man were there.

What a wonderful experince for us all.

Then I had the pleasure of having Tyson come and spend time with us. That is always nice since we don't get to see him much.

One of the things I have started doing lately is watching night time sitcoms. One of them being the Office. I just had to see what everyone at the office was talking about because they all watch it and I had no idea what it was about.

I am hooked. It has to be one of the dumbest shows but you just keep watching because it is so dumb.

Funny thing about it is that watching it you feel like you have been there.

Like the other day in the office. One of my co-workers put a check in the basket to be delivered. Later that day about 4:45 the broker called to see if they had cut the check and had it delivered? She was sure this had happened and called the runner.

Well the runner didn't remember taking the check to SLC. So we tore the office apart looking for the check thinking maybe it slipped behind something. But we never found the check.

Stop payment was placed on the check and a new one was issued and delivered. But still there was the mystery of the check and where it had gone??

So this was Friday, well on Wednesday the Broker called and the check came in the mail. So my co-worker remembers putting the check in the basket but she couldn't remember which basket.

Lovely Weather

This weekend we had a great weather. It was warm and sunny.
Today however it looks like winter has finaly decided to show up.
I watched the new last night and they said we could have a storm and by this afternoon we would have snow.
Well guess what, there is snow this morning. I am so excited! NOT!!!!!!
Why can it not just snow on the mountains, the grass, the houses? Why does it have to snow on the roads? I would be ok with it if it would just not be on the roads.
I so hate to drive in the snow.
I know this will make my kids so HAPPY!!!! That means there will be snow on the mountain for them to go snowboarding. And Chelsea's christmas will not be wasted since all she wanted was new stuff for snowboarding. And Tyson can continue his goal to become the ultimate snowboarder!!!
And Jesse can hit the hill with his friends, since he has not gotten to the snowboarding thing yet. But that is sure to come in the next year or so.
And me I will be at home on the couch with a blanket, sweats and slippers with a book or a good movie.
I guess I should be happy at least we will (maybe) have snow for Christmas!!!

Amazing Moments

I am not sure how to start this blog today but I want to say how thankful I am for the people around me. I have been going through some tough times the last few months. I have tried so hard to keep it all together.
But the Holidays roll around and the weight of everything just came crashing down.
Funny thing is I have had some really good people around me to keep me up lifted.
For instance last night I was leaving my house and their was a Woman and a young woman walking down my drive way. The Lady waves me down and asks me if I am Kim. I say yes. She says that they had heard that I was going thru a tough time and they were thinking about me and they just want to let me know that people were thinking about me and they wanted me to know.
So she handed me a book called "The Race" and a dozen pink roses. I was so surprised! I didn't know what to say. I really didn't even know these people but they were thinking of me. How amazing that was to me. I felt like a million bucks!!!
So when I returned home, I sat down and read the book. What a great inspriational story about not giving up on life.
I am totally blessed to be where I am and to have the people that are around me.
I am not sure what I have done to deserve this but I am really blessed!!!
Times are tough and there are many people out there who are struggling. Some maybe minor like mine but others are major.
I think we should all take it upon ourselves to think of someone who might need a little pick me up and give that to them. It would make a big difference in someones life.
I know it did in mine!!!
Thank you to the Parkins for your kindness and friendship!!!!!

where does the time go.

Wow can you believe that it is already December. Where has the time gone?
Thanksgiving came and went so fast. But the funnest thing about this time of year is the BLACK FRIDAY....
This year there wasn't a whole lot of things on any sale add that I couldn't live without. But it is like an addiction I just have to go.
My daughter Chelsea and I got up at 2:00 a.m. yes 2:00 a.m. how crazy is that. We went to Khols by 3:30 and had to stand in line since they didn't open until 4:00 a.m.
Chelsea was crazy out of control running to the area that we needed and looking for what we needed. Which was new bedding. She grabbed it out of my hands and ran to the front of the store to get in line. She was the first in line. We were in and out so fast there were people still in line waiting to get in the store.
Our next stop was Walmart. We got what we need there and were in and out.
We met up with my sister and mom in Ogden. We got what they needed and stood in line for them to show up.
We had lunch for Breakfast and went home and went back to bed. Chelsea didn't move until later in the afternoon.
it was alot of fun. I think that will be one of our traditons. For how ever long that will last.
